Microneedling in Palestine, TX

Microneedling improves skin texture, tone, and firmness over time, and can soften the look of some acne scars with a full series. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which prompts your body to rebuild its own collagen and elastin as it heals — a repair response, not a resurfacing or muscle-relaxing treatment. It's a gradual improvement built over a series, not a one-visit fix.

Downtime
Redness for 24–48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn.
Results Last
Builds over a series, with results lasting 3–6 months with maintenance.

Microneedling, Personalized to You

At Refresh and Renew, every Microneedling treatment is performed personally by Rhonda Hardin, RN, under the medical supervision of Daniel Olivero, MD — so you're always working with a provider who knows your history, not whoever's available that day.

Controlled micro-injuries stimulate collagen and elastin to improve texture, tone, and firmness. Schedule your consultation, and we'll help you design a plan that feels right for you — whether that means acne scars uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, or something else entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions does a course of microneedling typically take?

Microneedling builds cumulatively, so most people see the best results from a series rather than a single session, with maintenance visits after that to sustain the improvement. Your provider will recommend a schedule based on what you're treating and how your skin responds, rather than a fixed number that applies to everyone.

How is this different from a chemical peel or dermaplaning?

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the skin's own collagen and elastin production, while a chemical peel works by resurfacing the top layer of skin with an acid solution, and dermaplaning manually exfoliates dead skin and peach fuzz with a blade. They can address some overlapping concerns but work through different mechanisms, and some clients combine them as part of a broader plan.

Does this actually help acne scarring, or just general texture?

Microneedling is commonly used for both. The controlled injury response encourages collagen remodeling, which can soften the appearance of certain types of acne scarring over a series of sessions, in addition to improving overall texture and pore appearance. How much improvement to expect depends on the type and depth of scarring, which your provider will assess at your consultation.

How do I choose between Basic, Deluxe, and Supreme?

Basic covers the face only, Deluxe adds the neck with extra focus on areas of concern, and Supreme extends to the décolletage with that same added focus. The right tier depends on where your concerns actually show up — if texture or sun damage extends past your jawline, Deluxe or Supreme may make more sense than treating the face alone.

Can I add something like PRX Derm Perfexion or Exosomes to my microneedling session?

Yes — these are offered as add-ons because they're designed to enhance what microneedling is already doing, whether that's additional hydration, cellular signaling support, or resurfacing. Your provider can recommend whether an add-on makes sense for your skin and goals at your visit.

What is microneedling FDA-cleared for?

FDA has cleared microneedling devices to improve the appearance of facial acne scars, facial wrinkles, and abdominal surgical scars in people 22 and older. No microneedling device is cleared for hair loss or for use with other products, such as creams or platelet-rich plasma. Results may take several sessions and may be temporary.

What are the risks of microneedling?

Bleeding, bruising, redness, tightness, itching, and peeling are common and usually settle within days or weeks. Less common risks include dark or light spots, cold sore flare-ups, swollen lymph nodes, and infection. Tell us if you have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, or have eczema, diabetes, or a weakened immune system.
